Why Write and Publish Every Day?
Today, June 29th, 2019 is the first day of a year-long experiment.
I’m writing and publishing every day so I can be a better writer, a better teacher, and a better communicator.
It will also help me be a better business person too since content creation is a huge factor in attracting more customers.
This is not the first time I’ve tried this, by the way. But this time it feels different. I’m learning from my mistakes and am using new methods to assure my success.
Why Every Day?
My instinct tells me writing and publishing every day is the best way for me to really show up as a professional.
Many of us write every day. We write emails, notes to ourselves, texts and comments in social, for example. But writing for the public is different. I look forward to the changes this project will bring.
The plan is to get better over time and produce longer pieces. Plus, the more I work, the more other articles, videos, and podcasts will be generated. The starting friction will be reduced and these births will spawn other births.
I’m not sure yet, but I sense that somehow this will all be initiated by the daily posting.
But How Can You Make Sure It Will Work?
First, I’m keeping the daily posts very short, and giving myself a very low bar.
Second, I plan on preparing and “banking” posts in WordPress so I won’t miss a day.
There are many tools that will help with this: including the built-in “Publish On” date built into WordPress, the Calendar Schedule plugin, and apps such as the WordPress iOS App and MarsEdit for the Mac.
